Personal disclaimer: I have not researched this incidence, but I have seen copies of the original Winchester advertisement, and the explanation on the print back makes sense to me.
My documentation - We purchased a large estate, including real estate, in a Western Maine town. The owner of the estate was originally from Connecticut and was employed for some years by Winchester. We have found many pieces that would most likely have been possessed only by such person.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Note - the frame is far from original, but the way I found it. Frame is roughly 28”x12”. Image is about 24”.
