Description
The continuation of the 'City Views' series presents cityscapes on coins. The reverse shows the historic centre of Rome, dominated by the central dome of St Peter's Basilica. Built in a Renaissance style, it is one of the most magnificent buildings in the world. The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the denomination and date of issue.
The coin is based on a historically important design by the artist Jacques Alphonse Testard. The limited mintage of this coin is only 2000 pieces.
