On 2 June 1953, the world witnessed a spectacular display of pageantry reserved for the grandest state occasion. As Her Majesty The Queen arrived at Westminster Abbey to be crowned before the nation, statues of ten heraldic beasts formed a ceremonial guard of honor. Drawn from centuries of British history, these formidable royal guardians were chosen to represent the legitimacy of the rightful heir to the throne.
Starting with the Lion of England in 2017, The Queen’s Beasts Collection has showcased the history and symbolism of each of these creatures in turn. The Royal Mint's line-up of coronation beasts is now complete but the celebrations continue with a special coin reuniting all ten beasts in one design.
Celebrate the seminal Royal Mint series with this final edition: all ten of the Queen’s Beasts captured on 1 oz of 999.9 fine gold. Inspired by the ten heraldic creatures that guarded Westminster Abbey during the Queen’s coronation, this £100 coin is from a limited edition of just 625 and weighs in at 31.21 grams. An original design for 2021, finished to glorious proof standard. Presented in its original case with a booklet and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Obverse: Displays Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, against the brilliance of a clean background. Inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II . D. G. REG. F. D." and the 100 pounds face value.
Reverse: Displays within a center inset a smaller effigy of Queen Elizabeth II against a textured pattern. The inscription "THE QUEEN’S BEASTS . 2021" encircles the Queen’s portrait. Encircling the outer rim are small replicas of the ten Queen’s Beasts originally featured on each of the ten releases. Each of the Beasts are presented within a fine, arched frame. Also, each Beast has extended at least one hoof, paw, or claw to rest on the center inset. We can’t help but conclude that this was each representative heraldic beast paying due homage to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The overall result is exquisite and worthy of the Regal theme!
